Marissa has always been a rock kid- some of her earliest memories are riding around the neighborhood on her bright orange 24V ride-on Jeep, stealing rocks from her neighbor's garden. Don't worry, her parents always brought them back! During the past 5 years, she has enjoyed going on mining field trips with the Maine Mineral and Geological Society (MMGS), volunteering, and learning more about rocks. Her husband recently gifted her the machine of her dreams, a flat-lap. With this awesome tool, she learned from an MMGS member how to cut, polish, and shape cabochons and free-form specimens. Now, she's eager to teach others how to make their own jewelry and crystal decorations. If you love rocks, this is a great opportunity to polish and shape your very own piece of the earth!
